We are doing well and of course, keeping busy. I am sure some would say, too busy.
April 14th was our big one-year anniversary marker in which we managed to get away for a quick weekend trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. That’s right, home of tax-free shopping. You can imagine how excited I became at the possibilities this could hold. However, much to our surprise, we weren’t at all impressed. Ha, that is probably a blessing in disguise. After all, saving money with the current economic situation is a good thing.
Michael and I had heard so much about this town that overlooks the north eastern shore, we had to go and see for ourselves. The timing was right, just before tourist season, so there weren’t many people crowding the soft-sanded beach. The weather was cooler with a slight hint of humidity, which was tolerable. The smells of taffy, cotton candy, and caramel corn filled the air as we relaxed on weathered white benches, which sporadically lined the boardwalk. All of this could be seen from the window of our suite of the historical hotel we stayed in, overlooking the ocean.
Our trip was brief but it was well worth the 2 ½ hour get away.
